On Friday the 6th November 2009, some 90 budding golfers with a range of golfing abilities tee'd off in the OZWAC annual "Nine and Dine" charity golf day held at Leonay Golf Club who kindly assisted financially for the function.

The day was an "Ambrose" event that allowed even the worst golfer to participate in their team’s results with some fabulous prizes being provided to lucky winners. Unfortunately, Tiger Woods was already committed to the Australian Masters, however there were some "Tiger" like results recorded with the overall winners carding a net score of 50.25.

The golf was followed with a sumptuous dinner and dessert during which Josh McIvor entertained the players and their dinner guests.

The event was also supported by many local business sponsors with special thanks to major sponsor, Kelly and Partners Chartered Accountants and Abcoe Bulk Food Warehouse who kindly donated the major auction item. Lea Hicks, Fundraising Co-ordinator of OZWAC, reported that they were very happy with the amount of funds raised from the day that would assist with the purchase of a portable ultrasound machine for high risk obstetric patients in Bourke and surrounding areas for which Professor Michael Peek and Ann Quinton will commence monthly clinics in the outer west early 2010.
